Can I integrate the lead time with the delivery date on the checkout?

On its own, WooCommerce Lead Time displays the lead time text on the single product page, and doesn't affect the delivery options on the cart or checkout. If you'd like to link the lead time information with the delivery options then you can do this by using WooCommerce Lead Time with the WooCommerce Delivery Slots plugin.

How it works

The two plugins work together like this:

  • WooCommerce Lead Time displays the product lead time or waiting time on the single product page.
  • WooCommerce Delivery Slots looks at the lead time and adds this to the first available delivery date.

For example, if there are 2 products in the cart with lead times of 1 week and 14 days, then the Delivery Slots plugin will allow the customer to choose slots that are at least 14 days in the future.

If you are using the [iconic-wds-reservation-table] shortcode to let customers select a delivery slot before they start shopping, then they might select products which are not available on that date. If this happens, then they will be informed on the checkout page and asked to choose a slot that is available for the products in the cart.

How to set it up

The integration works automatically and you should set up the two plugins in the usual way. To enable the Delivery Slots plugin to read the lead time information, you must add your lead times in this format:

  • Select lead time units of either 'Days' or 'Weeks' on the WooCommerce Lead Time settings page.
  • Enter the lead time in whole numbers (either globally, per category or per product).

For example, to enter a lead time of '14 Days', you should set the units to 'Days' and enter the lead time as '14'. Do not add '14 Days' directly to the lead time field as plain text.
